Schengen Visa ration for approval and rejection.
European Commission has released new statistics of Schengen visa applications of 2019. With an immense increase of 5.8% in applications received by Schengen states than in 2018, almost 17 million people applied for a short-stay visa. 15 million Schengen visas were granted for a short stay reason. Schengen visa ratio has been 91.1% for approval rate whereas the visa rejection rate increased too with 9.9%.
France issued most of the Schengen visas 3,291,128 with a visa issuance rate of 84%. Germany remained number 2 by issuing 1.9 million visas with the approval rate of 91.2%.
Luxembourg issued the least Schengen visas 11,251 with an approval rate of almost 96% (It’s consulates and embassies received only 11,723 visa applications in 2019).
Iceland holds the most approval rate for Schengen visa 98.8% as it only rejected 1.2% applications (It issued 18,020 out of 18,183 applied applications in 2019).
Portugal has the most Schengen visa rejection rate of 20,3% as it issued 235,897 out of 297,236 visa applications.
Most applications (4 million) were submitted in Russia with an increase of 11.8%. China remained number 2 with 3 million followed by India at number 3 by submitting 1 million Schengen visa applications.
