Work Visas of different countries, with procedure and process of application

Working in developed countries has become very famous nowadays. Many skilled professionals opt to move to other countries for work. This could be due to many reasons such as earning more, enjoying a safe life and future, better health and social care services, a good environment for family members, and future projects.

According to the available statistics, only alone in 2022, 3.6 Million work and residence permit visas were issued. Of these, 63% were issued by France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

Belgium, France, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and Spain have mostly thousands of jobs available in the labor market.

In 2022, employment reasons were the most common reason for issuing residence permits in 14 Member States. The highest shares were observed in Croatia (93.3 %), Romania (73.6 %), Malta (72.8 %), Lithuania (71.5 %) and Slovakia (70.5 %), (see Table 1). Poland with 447,225 first permits was the main destination for non-EU citizens (mainly Belarusians and Ukrainians) entering the EU for work reasons. The next most common destinations for work were Spain (140, 034 permits) and Germany (81,795 permits). This shows how the world has changed and it has become a global market. One country depends upon the skilled workers of other countries. The important thing is once you choose a country to establish your future in, must suit your needs, qualifications, skills, and future goals.

Types of Work Visas

There are many types of work permits all over the world, but the basic and main ones are as follows:

Employer-Based Work Permits

These types of work permits are those where you choose an employer to work with and in most cases cannot change your employer. Most of these types are temporary work permits.

Open Work Permits

These types of work permits are usually without any restriction of the employer. Hence you can choose any person or company to work with. You have no conditions whatsoever for a set-aside employer.

Job Seeking Work Permit

Such work permits allow you to choose and country and travel to that without any job offer or a work contract. You first travel to your desired country and then find a job over there to get a work permit. Such visas are of short time such as in Germany for 6 months.
