Truck drivers now eligible for the Express Entry immigration program of Canada

Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship (IRCC) Sean Fraser confirmed and implemented some great changes on 16 November. According to which new NOC occupations have been confirmed by adding 16 occupations, which also includes the biggest surprise the truck drivers for the express entry program.

This simply means the Truckers are now eligible for Express Entry programs. According to a press release, the new NOC categories will help Canada attract international talent in high-demand sectors like transportation, healthcare, and construction.

The NOC system is used to track and classify all jobs in the Canadian labor market and is updated to reflect changes in the economy and the nature of work. With this update, 16 occupations that were previously ineligible can now benefit from expanded pathways to permanent residence.

“Every sector of the Canadian economy depends on the trucking industry,” said Stephen Laskowski, President of the Canadian Trucking Alliance. “The announcement by Minister Fraser will help build secure supply chains from agriculture to manufacturing by giving trucking companies access to an international workforce the sector did not have access before.”

“It is equally important that together we ensure that this new workforce coming to Canada is employed by companies that will properly explain to them – and protect – their labor rights, that will ensure that that they drive vehicles that are safe and compliant, and that will create an opportunity for their families to thrive and enjoy the benefits of working and living in our great nation.”

Salary of Truck Drivers in Canada
