European countries that pay you as a digital nomad to live there

You as a digital nomad would be paid by some of the European countries to set up your shop there. The situations that COVID-19 has created many issues in every state in the world. Such an era leads the Europeans to the remote working as a Digital Nomad.  Since the global digital nomad population has a total financial benefit of $794 billion so this is without any doubt a profitable enterprise for any country.

Why these European would even do that? In fact, this might due to the following reasons:

  1. Low population density
  2. Financial fluctuations
  3. Renovating housing

Many sectors in Europe are now allowing residency and employment to families, entrepreneurs, and home renovators.No doubt, these types of sectors are known as “Zoom Towns”. They are designed in an old-fashioned and tourist-friendly way. These require little TLC, but their boundary can surround the whole of the state. 

Digital nomads are people who use telecommunication technology to earn their livelihood. They use wireless devices through the internet by sitting in a restaurant or a coffee shop, or space work. They can work remotely from around the world being nomadic.

The main factor for the digital nomads is the location or country where they want to work in. Surprisingly, there are many options of locations that are available for digital nomads tune-up to a maximum of 53,000.

Regardless of the reason, there are the following sectors welcoming and paying the digital nomads to move there. 

1- Spain – Small towns in Galicia and Asturias 

Many Spanish are leaving the small villages and moving toward the larger cities. So, to overcome this migration, the authorities made a plan. This plan was monetary-based.  Following are the areas mainly benefiting the digital nomads:

  • The village of Ponga in Asturias:

This sector has a population of fewer than 600 people. Moreover, it is surrounded by elegant country buildings showing art spanning back to ancient times. Families will receive €3,000 from the village of Ponga in Asturias as assistance to them to settle in the village. As a bonus, an additional €3,000 will be given for each new baby born in the area. 

  • Rubia:

Rubia is hidden away in the mountains of Galicia. In case, the stunning landscapes of the Iberian peninsula will not be enough to attract the individuals to the settlement. Then the authorities will give them an extra €100-150 per month in order to be settled here. 

2- Ireland – The whole state

Do you want to build the next Airbnb, Google, or Paypal? Many businesses chose Ireland as their European headquarters. The reasons are its low corporation tax and EU links.

Look no further for digital nomads who enjoy pleasant people, greenery, and local food. The Irish government has developed a plan for ambitious, well-travelled individuals who want to conform to the norms. On the other hand, despite the additional hurdles of COVID-19, the scheme granted nearly €120 million to begin last year.

Requirements:

The Enterprise Ireland requirements are straightforward. You will have to prove that your company can generate at least 10 jobs. Moreover, €1 million in sales in the first three years.

3- Switzerland – The mountains of Albinen

Since 2017, shifting to the Swiss alpine resort of Albinen will pay you $25,200. This amount is one of the world’s most significant settlement prizes. Each year, there is enough money for three to 4 families to use it.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for the settlement and this high amount of pay, you will have to fulfil these requirements:

  1. You must be a citizen or the spouse of the citizen of Swizerland,
  2. You will give the verification that you will stay there for the upcoming 10 years,
  3. You must also be under 45 years old,
  4.  You will treat your property as your primary residence.

3- Italy – €1 houses in Sicily, Sardinia, and more

In spite of so much culture, excellent food, and beautiful weather,  so many areas in Italy are running campaigns to attract digital nomads.

There is a  recent housing trend in which cities around the country sell off €1 homes aiming to attract creative people with a little extra cash. 

There are the following religions included in this scheme:

  1. Abruzzo
  2. Sicily
  3. Milano
  4. Sardinia

Please Note!

First, clarify that you are in it for the correct purposes, not just to make a quick profit. The logic is the local governments frequently require you to invest in renovation or face a penalty.

  • Italy – Towns in Apulia, Abruzzo, and Calabria:

If house renovations are not your business, there are plenty of other places to visit that do not require much of your time and money. Places that, like the others on this list, would prefer to pay you rather than take your money.

  • Candela:

Candela is the ancient village of Little Naples. This is located in Italy’s beautiful Apulia area. It has the nickname “Little Naples” for its beauty and simple lifestyle. Depending on whether you’re a single traveller, a couple, or a family, you can get €800, €1,200, or €2,000.

You will have to fulfil the specific criterion. You must have:

  1. An annual salary of at least €7,500,
  2. Aproper residency application.
  • Cobblestone:

The cobblestone town has lately begun to provide incentives of up to €44,000 to new inhabitants.

Requirements

There are simple requirements for it:

  1. You must be aged 18-40, 
  2. You must have a vision that you will create a firm while you are there.
  • Calabria:

Last but not least, Calabria is the newest addition to Italy’s offers. This is the region, which forms the ‘toe’ of the Italian boot shape. Calabria is made up of various villages that went through massive population reductions.

Some communities have been left with fewer than 2000 inhabitants in recent years. Even though the infrastructure exists to provide residency to many more people. The digital nomads shifted there will be paid between €1,000 and €8000 each year for two to three years.

What is a digital nomad visa?

  • You can provide proof that your income meets the minimum standards (set by each country) during the six months prior to the application.
