Australia’s Skilled Occupations List – Latest and Updated

The Australian “Skilled Occupations List” helps candidates who want to work in the country on work visas or permanent residency programs. The list specifies the occupation codes called ANZSCO (Australia New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations). The list also provides information about the skill level of jobs, qualifications, and/or experience needed to work in occupations. Before applying for the immigration programs, you can also check the assessing bodies for the skills assessment which is key to your success for PR.

Getting skills assessment done

Do not forget please that you have to get an assessment of your eligible profession from respective assessing authorities that also are written in this list of eligible occupations. A positive skills assessment is mandatory to apply for the permanent residency programs. Through the eligible occupations list, t​​​​The following visas are available to individuals who are qualified to work or train in an eligible skilled occupation in Australia and can meet all other requirements:

  • Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)
  • Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186)
  • Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) visa (subclass 187) – Temporary Residence Transition Stream
  • Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) – Points-tested stream
  • Training visa (subclass 407)
  • Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482)
  • Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) – Graduate Work 
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489)
  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491)
  • Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 494).
