What is an opportunity card?
The opportunity card in Germany is a job search visa of one year. This gives access to the holder to go to Germany and search for a job in a relevant field. Once a job is found, the applicant is also able to apply for the residence permit that leads to permanent residency and eventually citizenship.
If the opportunity cardholder does not find a job and the one year time has passed, this can be extended to a further two years as well. During job search time, a part-time job can also be joined in any field.
