Fee implementation on online applications

From 12 am (AEST) on 1 July 2024, the new fees apply to all online applications, regardless of when you started. Your application is submitted when we receive both the application and the fee.

This means the payments made online via credit/debit card, PayPal, or UnionPay are usually processed on the same day. You must ensure your application includes all required documents. Incomplete applications may require resubmission with a new fee.

Fee implementation on paper applications

For paper applications sent by post, the submission date is when the Australian Immigration Department receives your application, and not when you post it.

The new fee applies if received on or after midnight (AEST) on 1 July 2024. This means you must consider postage times to avoid delays. Applications submitted without paying the fee are not accepted.
