Australia announces new immigration quota for 2022-2023

Australia has announced its new immigration quota for 2022 and 2023. More places have been reserved for skilled workers for this budget year.

More quota has been announced this year for the Employer-Sponsored, Skilled Independent, Regional, and State/Territory Nominated compared with last year’s immigration program. Whereas, less immigration quota overall has been reserved for the family immigration stream which includes partners, children, parents, and other family streams.

The Australian government has set once again the immigration level plan of 160,000 for 2022-2023. The same immigration quota was set for the last budget year. More numbers have been reserved for skilled workers as compared with the family immigration stream. About 109,900 skilled workers will be able to apply for the Australian immigration program. Compared with this, this quota was 79,600 for the same stream.

The employer-sponsored stream will have 30,000 candidate opportunities. On the other hand, the quota for the regional stream has been set as 25,000 and 16,652 for the independent skilled workers.

The state and territory nominated program will have a 20,000 quota. Business Innovation & Investment has 9,500 candidate opportunities and 8,448 seats have been reserved for the Global Talent (Independent) immigration program. 300 candidates will be able to apply through the Distinguished Talent scheme.
