The 14th PNP draw of 2021
The 27th Express Entry draw of 2021 has been released. A total of 462 candidates have been invited to the provincial nominee stream (PNP). In other words, only candidates with a score of 734 have been invited to apply for permanent residency. This is the 14th PNP draw of the year so far. Canada targeting 108,000 candidates through express entry stream candidates this year, has till now given ITA’s to 94,362.
Since this draw comprises of PNP candidates only, the chosen candidate had to score only 134, as they got 600 extra points by having been nominated from a province. For a tie score, the candidates had to be in the pool before 11 April 2021. The draw has been decided on 21 July which is hoped to be followed by a CEC draw the next day.
No doubt IRCC has been seriously considering many efforts to reach the set-aside targets of immigrants this year (401,000). Furthermore, PNP and CEC draw have been on regular intervals each month during travel restrictions. All candidates from these categories were already available in the country to apply for the PR.

When will FSWP and FSTP draw take place?
First of all, considering all measures taken by the Canadian government and IRCC, the draws of the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trades Program seem to be released in near future. Secondly, Canada is now allowing non-essential travel to its 9 airports from the US from 9 August and from the rest of the world from 7 September 2021(only for fully vaccinated travelers). Moreover, this step will indeed allow candidates from FSWP and FSTP to get an invitation to apply as well. Canada has already allowed from 21 June 2021 the candidates having COPR (certificate of permanent residency) to travel to Canada.
Recent measures adopted by IRCC
In conclusion, IRCC has taken and adapted all possible measures to reach the immigration quota target of this year. For example, the following are some of the steps which have proven it:
- Fully vaccinated children of Canadians, and other exempt travellers to have amended quarantine starting August 9
- A new open work permit for those temporary workers or international graduates waiting for the decision of their PR application (pathway to permanent residence)
- Meanwhile 9 airports accepting international flights
- Candidates of permanent residency programs having approved PR status will now be able to travel to Canada from 21 June 2021
- Fully vaccinated tourists from all countries can enter September 7
- Fully vaccinated U.S. tourists can enter Canada starting August 9
- Lifting flight ban from the flights from Pakistan
- Hotel quarantine policy ending August 9
