We have agreed on a joint steering group for this purpose. Colombia has great potential for young workers who want to work in Germany temporarily or permanently. This is an excellent opportunity to attract motivated and qualified new employees, especially for the job shortage in Germany. At the same time, experts from both sides will work to quickly reduce the number of hopeless asylum applications from Colombia through concrete measures.
The delegation trip includes several rounds of discussions at the Colombian Foreign Ministry, including with Deputy Foreign Minister Francisco Coy, at the Ministry of Justice, the Colombian Migration Authority, the Foreign Chamber of Commerce, the Colombian Employment Service, various actors in the education and training landscape, the DAAD and the Goethe-Institut.
