The UK has replaced the shortage occupations list with the Immigration Salary List. If your job is on the immigration salary list, the minimum salary is 80% of the route’s usual minimum rate to qualify for a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa.
To apply for a skilled worker visa, you must show that you have a job qualification from a UK employer. Furthermore, the updated important lists can be found as follows:
- Register of Worker and Temporary Worker Licensed Sponsors.
- Skilled Worker Visa Eligible Occupations and Codes.
Why “Immigration Salary List”?
If your job is listed as eligible, you must earn at least 80% of the route’s standard minimum salary to qualify for either a Skilled Worker or a Health and Care Worker visa.
Working Hours and Salary Calculations
- The listed annual salaries are based on a 37.5-hour workweek.
- If your working hours differ, your salary must be pro-rated according to the hours your employer specifies.
Finding Your Job Code
If you’re unsure of your job’s code, you can use the CASCOT occupation coding tool to search for it.
Choosing the Right Salary Column
Depending on your circumstances, refer to the appropriate salary rate column:
- Standard Rate: Use this if your certificate of sponsorship was issued on or after 4 April 2024.
- Lower Rate: Use this if either of the following applies:
- You are applying for a Health and Care Worker visa in specific eligible occupations.
- You received your first Skilled Worker visa certificate of sponsorship before 4 April 2024 and have held continuous Skilled Worker visas since.
- You are applying for a Health and Care Worker visa in specific eligible occupations.
Immigration Salary List for the Skilled Worker Visa
Below is the immigration salary list, and if your occupation is available in this list, you do not need to be paid 38,700; instead, you can be paid 30,960 or the ongoing rate.
The lower rate column is strictly only for selected people who:
- are applying for a Health and Care Worker Visa in certain occupations,
- got their certificate of sponsorship for this visa application before 4 April 2024 ,
- got their CoS for the first Skilled Worker visa before 4 April 2024 and have continually held one or more Skilled Worker visas since then.
