Italy Opens Click Days 2026 for Non-Seasonal Workers and Domestic Carers

Italy has officially announced the Click Days for 2026 under the Decreto Flussi. This means the applications will remain open as follows:

  • 16 February 2026 โ€“ Non-seasonal workers
  • 18 February 2026 โ€“ Domestic carers and assistants

On these dates, employers can submit work permit applications online through the official portal of the Italian Ministry of the Interior.

What Is Click Day?

Italy uses a system called โ€œClick Day.โ€ It is a specific date and time when employers must send work visa applications online. Applications are submitted through the official ALI portal of the Ministry of the Interior.

The system works on a first-come, first-served basis. Although applications can technically be submitted until quotas are full, sending them exactly at 9:00 AM on Click Day gives you the best chance.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Submit on Click Day

1. Access the Official Portal

Visit the official ALI portal of the Ministry of the Interior.

Log in using:

  • SPID (digital identity), or
  • CIE (electronic ID card)

You can access the portal before 9:00 AM.

2. Check Your Applications

After logging in:

  • Go to the One-Stop Immigration Desk section.
  • Select Compile Applications for the 2026 Flow Decree / Click Day 2026.
  • Open the Application Summary section.

Here you will see:

  • Total number of prepared applications
  • Applications marked โ€œTo Be Sentโ€
  • Applications eligible for that specific Click Day

Before 9:00 AM, the system shows: โ€œNo operations in progressโ€ (in green).

3. Wait Until Exactly 9:00 AM

Do not try to submit early. The system activates the โ€œSend Applicationsโ€ button exactly at 9:00 AM (Rome time). Important:

  • The portal logs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Click โ€œRefresh Pageโ€ regularly to stay logged in.

4. How to Submit at 9:00 AM

Follow these steps carefully:

Step 1 โ€“ Refresh the Page

At exactly 9:00 AM, click Refresh Page.

Step 2 โ€“ Click โ€œSend Applicationsโ€

The button will turn green. Click it immediately.

Step 3 โ€“ System Processing

  • Your application list disappears.
  • A message asks you to wait.
  • Status changes to โ€œSendingโ€ฆโ€ (in red).

Step 4 โ€“ Wait

Processing may take a few minutes.
Do not close your browser or computer.

Step 5 โ€“ Confirmation

If successful, you will see: โ€œOperation completed. All applications have been sent successfully.โ€

Step 6 โ€“ If There Is an Error

If one application fails:

  • The system will notify you.
  • Click โ€œSend Applicationsโ€ again.

Submission Deadline on Click Day

Applications marked โ€œTo Be Sentโ€ can be submitted until 8:00 PM on the same day. After 8:00 PM:

  • Use the Search Applications section to manage them.

Within 48 hours, you will receive:

  • The application identification number
  • The official submission receipt

The Day After Click Day

From 8:00 AM the next day, you can:

  • Complete applications marked:
    • To Be Validated
    • To Be Completed
  • Create new applications (if quotas are still available)

Final Deadline for 2026 Applications

All applications under the 2026 Immigration Decree can be prepared and submitted until 31 December 2026, unless quotas are filled earlier.

What Is Decreto Flussi 2026โ€“2028?

The Decreto Flussi 2026โ€“2028 is Italyโ€™s official immigration program. It sets the number of non-EU workers allowed to enter Italy for work over three years. It covers:

  • Non-seasonal work
  • Seasonal work (agriculture & tourism)
  • Domestic work
  • Self-employment

The decree was approved in late 2025 and published in the Official Gazette.

Who Can Apply?

This program is for non-EU citizens from countries that have agreements with Italy. Countries commonly included in 2026 are:

2026 Quotas โ€“ How Many Workers Are Allowed?

For 2026:

  • 76,200 quotas โ€“ Non-seasonal employees
  • 13,600 quotas โ€“ Domestic workers & assistants
  • 650 quotas โ€“ Self-employment

In total, Italy has allocated approximately 164,850 work entries for foreign workers in 2026. Seasonal workers (agriculture and tourism) have separate and larger quotas.

How to Apply for a Work Permit in Italy?

Here is the full process in simple steps:

1. Pre-Fill Application

(Octoberโ€“December 2025)
Employers prepare the application online using SPID or CIE.

2. Submit on Click Day

Applications are sent at 9:00 AM on the official date.

3. Work Authorisation (Nulla Osta)

If approved, the employer receives the work authorization.

4. Apply for a visa

The worker applies for a visa at the Italian consulate in their country.

5. Residence Permit

After arriving in Italy, the worker must apply for a residence permit within 8 days.
