Job Fair Canada to be held virtually from 13-15 November

From 13 to 15 November, IRCC and “Destination Canada” are set to host a virtual job fair focused on tourism, hospitality, and culinary positions across Canada (excluding Quebec). Participation in the event is free of cost.

Registration for “Job FairCanada opens on September 23rd and will remain available until October 27th, 2024. This means job seekers attending the fair will be able to engage with potential employers online and apply directly for many of the job openings featured during the event.

The conferences will cover an overview of the tourism, hospitality, and culinary industries, as well as guidance on the steps to work and settle in Canada, whether temporarily or permanently.

How does the Job Fair function?

On the event day, the job seekers will also have the chance to engage with representatives from French-speaking communities across Canada’s provinces and territories, outside of Quebec.

These representatives will share details about their regions, services available for newcomers, and specific immigration programs. They will also address any questions regarding life in French-speaking communities across Canada (outside Quebec).

Those who secure a job offer and are already residing in Canada with a work or study permit may qualify for a special facilitated work permit through the federal Mobilité Francophone stream. Presentations will primarily be conducted in French, with Q&A sessions available in both French and English.

A list of exhibitors, including participating employers, will be sent to registered attendees in the days leading up to the event. Additionally, job seekers can browse available positions via virtual booths, which will be open throughout the event.

To apply for the job fair participation, candidates must apply online on the “Destination Canada Official Website“. Once the registration process is done, the contact point will be this website for them.

Who can participate in Job Fair Canada?

Interested applicants in the occupations fields such as tourism, hospitality, and culinary can register themselves. After acceptance from the job fair administration, they will receive an invitation to join the event virtually on the job fair day. The invitations will be sent to the applicants from 4 November 2024 and onwards.

Requirements

The candidates must submit an acceptable bilingual format of a Canadian CV. Furthermore, the eligible candidates must show that they:

  • Upload their resume in the specified format and languages;
  • Be looking for job opportunities outside of Quebec;
  • Be fluent in French or bilingual;
  • Have experience in the tourism, hospitality, or culinary sectors; and
  • Complete registration within the designated period.
