Kuwait resumes visas for Pakistanis after decade-long suspension

Sunday 30 May 2021 brought good news for many skilled workers of Pakistan where Kuwait announced resuming visa services for business, family, and technical categories. The decision to restore the visa was taken during an important meeting between the Kuwaiti Prime Minister and Sheikh Rashid. The visa services from Kuwait for Pakistanis were on halt for about a 10 years period.

Sheikh Rashid attended a meeting with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamid Al-Sabah and on this occasion, the Kuwaiti Interior Minister and the Pakistani Ambassador were also present. The meeting along with many other bilateral issues saw a good breakthrough of Kuwaiti visas for Pakistani nationals closed since 2011. Sheikh Rashid especially spoke to the Kuwaiti Prime Minister about visa restoration as Pakistani labor in past has been supporting Kuwait’s labor market.

Pakistanis living in “Gulf Countries” will be able to go to Kuwait with an online visa once the visa restoration process becomes actively available. On this occasion, both parties also decided to agree on the issuance of Kuwaiti visas to Pakistani workers.

The family and business visas between Pakistan and Kuwait are straightaway available after the statments have been made.

The latest development between both nations will lead to no restrictions on technical visas in medical and oil fields.
