A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Pakistan and the UK that will help 150,000 Pakistani doctors, nurses and medicals staff to work in the UK health sector.
Governor of Punjab has also inaugurated a portal for job recruitment and the betterment of the applicants. This will surely boost foreign remittance fro Pakistan.
A few days back, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between a Pakistani employment recruitment bureau AFCO-Private Limited and the MMC-Health Care Limited, UK. This will indeed help Pakistan to send their medical staff to the in great numbers.
Which sectors can benefit?
Only the health sector currently is included in the bid. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and allied paramedics will be able to apply through this program.
How many professionals can apply (applicants quota)?
Currently, the following quota has been set aside.
- Doctors 25,000
- Nurses 80,000 to 100,000
- Pharmacists 10,000
- Allied paramedics 20,000
After the MoU was signed, an Overseas Job Creation Portal was inaugurated at the Punjab Governor’s House recently that would make ensure a proper mechanism by inviting Pakistani medical professionals to avail the opportunity.
This new deal will help more and more Pakistani medical staff to enjoy the best career facilities in the UK health sector. According to Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, almost 40,000 Pakistani are working outside Pakistan until March last year- About 18,000 Pakistani doctors are settled in the USA and a 3rd of this (6,000) in the UK and other European countries. The new MoU will increase the significant numbers of Pakistani doctors abroad.
