All Schengen countries issued 297,310 short-stay (MEVs) and long-stay (LTVs) Schengen visas to Indians last year. This placed Indian visa applicants as the number four most visa-awarded country. The year before this, the rank number was 5. Türkiye and Russia remained number one and two on the list. Saudi Arabia made it to number three. China most surprisingly remained in number 22nd position.
From India, 671,928 applicants applied for short and long-term Schengen visas. A total of 121,188 visa applications were refused. Schengen countries issued 296,964 short-term visas whereas 346 applicants were issued long-term visas.
