- Have a residence permit for your studies,
- Are an EU resident,
- You are a refugee seeker and own an AT-Und. You will be free from the strictness to hold a work permit.

Criteria for the work permit

Registration in the Swedish population register
To get your name registered in the Swedish population register, you must have:
- Permit for the minimum duration of 1 year,

The importance of registration
It is essential to get the name registered in the Swedish population register. The reason is you can easily enjoy the social rights and facilities in the state as their citizens do.
Important note!

Application procedure for the work permit

Step 1: Job offer

Step 4: Documentation

Documentation for extending a work permit
If you have applied for the work permit extension and you are working for a job as personal assistance, then submit some extra documents. You will have to submit a copy of the commitment issued by the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Forsakringskassan). This commitment will reveal that you are under someone working as an assistant.
Required Documentations if you are applying for your family
If you and your family will be traveling together and you are applying for the permit for you and your family at the same time. Then you will have to submit:
- For the partners having cohabitation, document revealing that their residence is in the same address in their state,

Step 5: The migration agency proceeds with the application
If you submit all the requirements correctly, there will be less time required for the migration agency to make a decision on your application. In case, you have submitted some of the data after the submission of the application, then you will receive a decision late than the normal duration.
Regardless of all the requirements fulfilled, the migration agency will ask you to submit the additional information in some cases.
Step 6: Residence permit card

- The state where the applicant is living, the submission of the application will be there in Embassy or consulate,
- If there is no Embassy in the area of the applicant, then he/she can apply via embassy from the nearest state,
- Before the submission of the application, it is mandatory to contact the embassy.
In case, you have received a work permit
Residence permit card
You will receive a residence permit card if you get permission to live in the state for 3 months. This card will prove that you have full permission to live in Sweden with verified fingerprints and images.
Essential information about residence permit card
The card for the residence permit will be issued at the time of the decision. The estimated time is three months before the residence permit becomes operative.
If you require an entry visa for freely traveling in Sweden

What if your application gets a rejection?

- You will have to submit your lodge request within 20 days after getting the rejection notification,
