The “State Department” of the USA announced the “Diversity Immigrant Visa Program” results on 8 May 2021. About 55,000 winners will be able to apply for the US Green Card upfront through this lottery system this fiscal year.
DV-2022 Entrants may enter their confirmation information through the link below starting at noon (EDT) on May 8, 2021. Entrants should keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2022.
The results can be checked here online.
The Diversity Visa Lottery Program is also known as Green Card Lottery was established in a bill passed in 1990 known as the Immigration Act.
United States opened the registration of a DV lottery visa from October 7, 2020, to November 10, 2020. According to The Department of State, for Fiscal Year 2022, up to 55,000 Diversity Visas (DVs) will be accepted.
This year’s results mean a lot to the winners. This is why because back in 2017,2018 and 2019, the winners really could not benefit from the lottery program as former American President Donald Trump imposed restrictions on several countries against the Presidential Proclamation 9645. Joe Biden however during his first days of presidency, lifted this act and issued a new presidential proclamation allowing all banned countries’ residents to enter or apply for the US visa.
Initially, there is no cost to register for the Diversity Visa program for 2022 online registration. Whereas the Diversity Visa Lottery fee (per person applying as a DV program selectee for a DV category immigrant visa) is $330.00 which is non-refundable in any case.
