Canada Immigration: Programmers and Engineers required

The modern era and current situations are making it more and more practical to work from home. IT professionals for these reasons are on song. Canada requires a big amount the tech talent and STEM professionals.

Canada requires engineers and programmers as the country is heading towards a new system of the labor market. The COVID-19 epidemic has had a profound effect on Canada’s economy and has left it far behind. As a result, three million jobs have been affected by the process. Governments’ social distance laws have had the effect of limiting economic activity in the country.

Express entry record-breaking year: Canada creates a history where the number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued in 2020 reached 107,350, a record-high number of invitations.

Canada is dropping tech talent and as a result, Canadian companies are trying to attract overseas talent to the North. This is in accordance with a report posted by the Innovation Economy Council last month, which focused on how Canada is in the world race for innovation talent. Canada ranks third in the United States in acquiring H1-B visas. The purpose of this visa is usually to hire talented people from abroad. In these uncertainties, the future of the H1-B program is unclear. That’s because US President Donald Trump suspended the program earlier this year, citing the epidemic as the main cause.

STEM jobs are far more widespread than they were before the COVID-19 epidemic. Employment in STEM extended in October compared to February – in October it was 8.7% higher than in February. When it comes to STEM jobs, programmers, engineers, and different tech workers top the list.

Canada has been placing 4th best country for immigration according to last year’s surveys.

Foreign corporations are also using the talent available in Canada. As tech companies realize that employees can work from virtually anywhere, many Canadians are creating opportunities. Proof of this is why tech companies like Google and Facebook have been opening stores in Canada for the previous 5 years.

The latest instance of this is the software organization Gates’s decision to open a research center in Toronto, early last year, to attract local talent from Waterloo and the University of Toronto. “Toronto has been recognized as a new Silicon Valley; they declare there is no better place than Toronto,” stated Richard Steiner, head of policy and communications at GATEK.

A quarter of STEM graduates from Canada’s top universities are working abroad, in accordance with a recent study by researchers at the University of Toronto and Brooke University.

A series of international capabilities

Global Talent Stream (GTS) is a high-speed federal immigration program that helps employers attract and retain highly skilled temporary foreign workers. Under the GTS, employers are required to attain a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). To show that they have eliminated all possibilities for hiring from the local talent pool. This process takes two weeks.

Once this process is complete, overseas nationals can apply to come to Canada again through GTS. Canada responds to these requests is simply two weeks. This means that it can only take a foreign citizen 4 weeks to come to Canada through this program.

Canada will give more than 1.2 Million visas in the next three years. On October 30, 2020, the Honourable Marco Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, tabled the 2021‒2023 Immigration Levels Plan that will allow 401,000 immigrants in 2021, 411,000 in 2022 and 421,000 in 2023.
