The latest Express Entry Draw has been released by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). In total 3,000 candidates were invited to apply from the Canada Experience Class (CEC). The comprehensive ranking system score remained at 522 for this draw.
This is the second draw of May, as the first was released on 30 May, for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) where 2,985 candidates were selected.
The IRCC has released these draws after a long pause of 5 weeks. Only two draws have been announced this month compared to the four in April.
In contrast to this whole year, this is the second program-based draw (CEC), and the first was from PNP. This CEC draw is the first after the last specified CEC draw was issued in September 2021. The CRS score for this draw is also the lowest among the program-specified streams.
The current two program-specified draws show IRCC’s commitment to bringing down the number of temporary residents in the country. More domestic draws are being released so that the temporary residents holding Canadian experience can be converted into permanent residents.
