Program-Based and Category-Based draws
This year, IRCC is also focusing on category-based immigration programs such as French language proficiency, health, trade, agriculture, agri-food, STEM, and transport occupations. The draw of 5th and 4th July is an example of this move.
The immigration department has also released draws for the “General” category which means random selection was made regardless of program or category distributions. The draws from 10 April and 23 April are examples of this norm.
For program specified draws that are traditional and most practiced are from CEC, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trade Program, and the Provincial Nominee Program (aligned with Express Entry).
