Seasonal Visas of Italy Open Now to Apply under Decreto Flussi 2024. Click Day Seasonal Visa.

The biggest moment of the year 2024 comes live for interested applicants of the Seasonal Visa of Italy under Decreto Flussi. Starting from 25 March, from 9 am, applications for seasonal subordinate work can be online submitted at the official website.

The applications can be submitted till 31 December 2024 according to the Ministry of Interior Italy. Applications submission can be definitively transmitted, exclusively electronically, by accessing the Services portal via Spid or Cie.

This visa is normally of 9 months in validity and counts under Long Term D residence permit. Mostly, the employers do not require interested applicants to show their ability to speak Italian or present any educational documents.

In 2024, according to article 7, paragraph 1, letter b of the Prime Ministerial Decree of 27 September 2023, the quota of 89,050 (out of a total quota of 151,000) has been set aside for the “Seasonal Subordinate Workers”.

Seasonal Worker Visa Quota Distribution for 2024

Following is the quota distribution of the seasonal work for Decreto Flussi 2024:

  • Citizens of countries with future immigration agreements: 12,000 entries
  • Citizens of states running campaigns against irregular migration trafficking: 3,000 entries
  • Stateless persons and refugees: 50 entries
  • Citizens of countries with migration and multi-seasonal agreements: 2,000 entries
  • Citizens of countries with immigration agreements in the agricultural sector (application submitted by employer associations): 41,000 entries
  • Citizens of countries with current immigration agreements in the tourism sector (application submitted by employer associations): 31,000 entries.

As per the instructions of the Interior Ministry guidance, on the “Clickday” for the applications submissions for the “Seasonal Visa,” the following process should be adopted:

  • From 8.35 am you can start accessing your Reserved Area of the ALI Services Portal with the SPID or with CIE.
  • Go to the same section you used in the pre-compilation phase – “Compile Applications for the Flows Decree 2024/Click-day 2024”.
  • In the “Questions Summary” section you will find the questions you have pre-filled.

Please wait until 9.00 am to send your applications, proceeding as follows:

  • 1. at 9.00 click first on the “update page” button (orange button) to allow the system to update the page where the list of your questions is present, to make the send button editable, called “Send questions”, which will allow you to send them;
  • 2. after clicking on the “refresh page” button, wait for the “send questions” button to turn from gray to blue, therefore editable, and then click on it. The system will acquire all the applications that are in the “to be sent” status;
  • 3. wait for the sending to be completed which could take several minutes depending on the turnout and the number of questions to be sent and do not close the PC.
  • 4. at the end of the system’s activity aimed at receiving the applications sent, a message will appear informing you of the outcome of the sending. At this point you can close the page;
  • 5. the application receipt will be available in the Reserved Area, alongside each application sent, within the following 24 hours.

The citizens of 35 following countries initially can apply for the Seasonal Worker Visa program:

How to apply for the Seasonal Worker Visa?

Following are the general steps for applying for a “Seasonal Work” visa of Italy:

  • You’ll need a valid employment contract from an Italian company.
  • Understand whether your job falls under the in-quota system (requiring your employer to secure a work permit) or the extra-quota system. Research the specific requirements for your category.
  • If your job falls under the in-quota system, your employer needs to apply for a “Nulla Osta” (work permit authorization) with the Italian immigration authorities in Italy.
  • Once the Nulla Osta is obtained (for in-quota) or your category allows direct application, you can submit your visa application to the Italian embassy or consulate in your home country.
  • The required documents include:
    • a completed application form,
    • passport photos,
    • and passport with validity beyond your stay,
    • proof of health insurance,
    • proof of Nulla Osta provided by the employer,
    • job documents provided by the employer,
    • proof of financial means,
    • and any additional documents specific to your visa category.
  • In some cases, you might be required to attend an interview at the embassy or consulate.
  • Allow for processing time, which can vary depending on the workload and your specific situation.
  • Once your visa is approved, you can collect it from the embassy or consulate.
  • Within eight days of arrival in Italy, you’ll need to apply for a “Permesso di Soggiorno” (residence permit) at the local post office.

In general, it is indeed difficult to find seasonal worker jobs in Italy. The reason is that the Italian language is spoken only by most employers and the applicants cannot usually send their job applications in Italian language.
